Lifestyle

Nesting takes place above and underground. Self-dug nests are built in dead wood and hollow plant stems, but also in existing cavities in all kinds of man-made structures as well as ocasionally in the ground. Dwellers of nesting boxes with similar characteristics. Brood cell partitions and terminal plug are made of pieces of cut leaves.
